Dealing with the Affects of Menopause

Do you dread the word “Menopause”? For some women, menopause is an indicator of middle age. Other women simply treat menopause as another stage in a women’s life.
Menopause literally means a pause in menstrual cycles. It’s the natural stopping of a woman’s reproductive cycles. In addition to the change in your fertility status, menopause also brings about big hormonal changes.

Menopause starts when the ovaries no longer ovulate. This change affects the body’s endocrine system, and the hormones that are produced – progesterone, and two out of the three estrogen hormones: estriol, estrone, and estradiol. Women’s bodies also have naturally occurring testosterone. While testosterone declines once a woman hits young adulthood, there is not a significant change to the testosterone levels once menopause begins.
In addition to the stop of menstruation, women may also experience some other common symptoms associated with menopause, such as:
• Lack of energy
• Hot flashes
• Heart palpitations
• Depression
• Anxiety
• Irritability
• Mood swings
• Memory problems
• Lack of concentration
While menopause is one of those unpreventable stages of life, you don’t have to suffer from the symptoms. There are a number of products that can make a huge difference in your life.
